The Owen MacLennan Trade Unionist of the Year Awardis an annual award. The application deadline is June 30 every year. This award acknowledges and celebrates individual trade unionists who have made a significant and/or ongoing contribution to the labour movement. Both union staff and union members are eligible for nomination.

The Owen MacLennan Trade Unionist of the Year Award was established in 2020, on the 10^th anniversary of the passing of Owen MacLennan. Owen MacLennan worked at Eastern Bakeries from 1951 to 1994. He had a strong work ethic and was an active member of the Bakery, Confectionary, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers Union (BCTGM) local 406 in Moncton.

A donation in the amount of $1,000 will be made by Argus Audiology in the name of the award recipient to the New Brunswick Federation of Labour (NBFL) Blair Doucet Youth Summer Camp. The presentation of the award will be made during labour day weekend each year. Award recipients will also be formally recognized during the NBFL Convention.

Le Prix du/de la syndicaliste de l’année Owen MacLennan est un prix annuel. La date limite de mise en candidature pour le prix est le 30 juin de chaque année. Ce prix reconnait et célèbre des syndicalistes qui ont fait ou qui continue de faire une importante contribution envers le mouvement syndical. Les employés et les membres des syndicats sont tous admissibles à la mise en candidature pour le prix.

Le Prix du/de la syndicaliste de l’année Owen MacLennan a été établi en 2020 à l’occasion du 10e anniversaire du décès d’Owen MacLennan. De 1951 à 1994, Owen MacLennan a travaillé à Eastern Bakeries. Il avait une bonne éthique de travail et était un membre actif du Syndicat international des travailleurs et travailleuses de la boulangerie, confiserie, tabac et meunerie (SITBCTM), section locale 406, de Moncton.

Argus Audiologie remettra un don de 1 000 $ au nom du/de la récipiendaire du prix au Camp d’été des jeunes Blair Doucet de la Fédération des travailleurs et travailleuses du Nouveau‑Brunswick (FTTNB). Le prix sera remis annuellement lors de la fin de semaine de la fête du Travail. De plus, le/la récipiendaire du prix sera officiellement reconnu(e) lors du congrès de la FTTNB.
